Every little boy needs a train.

My son has inspired me to take up drawing and painting again. His future room is the only room in my entire house that I have not painted, and of course it's a neutral color. If you've never been to my house, I LOVE color!!! I will paint any room any color. My dining room is red, my master bath is navy blue, and the upstairs bedroom is purple & gold. My first idea was to paint a giant mural in the nursery, but I decided to scale back for the sake of my growing tummy. Here's the compromise I came up with. The bedding we picked out is animals, and what little boy doesn't love a train?! It took me about a week to figure out exactly what I wanted to paint, but I think I got it right. If you are wondering, no I didn't find this and copy it from a projector. I get my artistic ability from my mom. I just hadn't used it in a while. Thanks, mom, for passing on the art gene. I think Boomer is really going to love these.

22 Weeks

The time is flying by! I'm already 22 weeks and popping out. I took a sick day this week, and my students thought for sure I had gone into labor. They told me, "You just look big," as their justification for saying I went into labor. Thanks. These are the same brainiacs that struggled with 6 divided by 3. They kept shouting, "3!" When I reprashed the question as 3 times what number gives you 6, the answer was still an emphatic (yet clueless), "3!" You should have seen their faces when I asked 12 divided by 3. At this time I would like to point out that I teach 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. As a result of my experience, I have started reciting times tables to Boomer in the womb.
Brian was able to feel Boomer kick for the first time, which was awesome. Now Boomer's movements are visible from the outside, especially at night when he's really active. (A sign of what's to come???) I can sit there and watch my belly poke out at random intervals as he's adjusting himself. It's one of the most incredible feelings, but yet frightening at the same time. Ever watched the movie Alien? I rest my case.

21 weeks

I'm 21 weeks and noticeably pregnant. Brian was able to feel Boomer kicking for the first time this week. The baby is a huge LSU basketball fan. We went to the basketball game during the week, and the baby was bouncing from one side of my uterus to the other. Brian was showing me a trailer of a Dale Brown movie, and this kid decided to go bananas! It was pretty awesome. We did manage to start cleaning out some of the stuff in the nursery. Okay so it's pretty much just Brian doing the cleaning, but he's doing great and making some serious progress. We may actually see the entire carpet soon.
