24 weeks

You would never believe what happened to me...I failed to fit out of the door of my car TWICE!!! Let me explain. The parking spaces at school are narrow and the numbers are no longer visible so I guess I'm the only idiot willing to count the spaces and everyone uses my car as a gauge as to where they need to park. Usually I arrive very early to school. I'm typically the first car in my row. As I pull into school, there is a black car in what appears to be the parking spot to the left of my spot. Whoever the car was for must have driven to school without headlights, coffee or glasses because their parking was horrible! Their right tires were parked on my left boundary line. (I'm trying to give you a visual.) My car isn't that wide so I pull in my spot where I'm still within my right boundary line. I turn off the car and open my door. My door then collides with this black car's side mirror. Oooops. I gather my belongings and decide to squeeze through the opening...or so I thought. Ya'll I couldn't fit!!! It's not like just a few inches I was trying to squeeze through. My head, legs, butt - everything but my belly - could make it through. I climb back into my car, turn it back on and decide to just pull up further so my door wasn't blocked by her side mirror. That should do it. I turn the car off again, gather up my belongings again, and open the door again. Oh I can definitely fit. (My door was just barely touching her car this time.) NOPE!!!! I tried my hardest to suck in or shift my weight, but I was not fitting through that opening. I weighed my options: lose 5 pounds in the 15 minutes before I had to report for duty (fat chance of that happening - pun intended) or give in and move into the spot next to me, which is terribly tacky (not to mention I have completely lost my pride because people are now in the parking lot watching me). I took option two. As I turned the car off for the third time, gathered my belongings for a third time and flung my door wide open for the third time, I took one look at the opening and said if I don't make it out this time, I'm going back home.
